Those who like a bit of spooky history might like to know that the cellars were once used to house convicted criminals, sentenced to death by `Bloody` Judge Jeffreys. Nowadays, the hotel is noted for the excellence of the cuisine at its Beaufort Restaurant and the extensive wine list.
