Parts of the building date back to 1206 when it was inside the original precinct wall of the Abbey, and some remaining arches in the Hotel have the same aspects as can be seen in the Abbey ruins. To keep pace with increasing visitor trade the Hotel was upgraded over the years until, in 2002, it was completely refurbished by its current owners, Robert Cook and David George. The Abbey Brassiere has been designed for all-day eating, from a wonderful breakfast selection to a candlelit dinner. The Abbey Hotel Bar is warm and relaxing for a traditional pint, a light lunch or a hearty evening meal or get-together with friends for sporting occasions on digital T/V. The lounge provides total calm for a quiet drink, snack or chat.
